Oct.22...

So...yesterday Porter's teacher didn't show up. I got a text with her stating that she'd be unable to teach him due to no internet access...even though James said; "give me your mac info amd I'll hook you up." She's a sub and probably not experienced w/ Autism, so now I have to call the school to set up another IEP and be 'stronger' about wanting a certified Autism Teacher 5 days a week!
The fight is daily.
==================
Wahoo! I made my 3 month goal and dropped 30 more pounds!!!
Megan McKee was with me and her jaw dropped. She even witnessed me in the body scanner. Next appointment is January. Now is the time to get even more serious...DAILY cardio for 30 minutes!
(I got this!)
==================
Great Day!
First, celebrating losing 30 more pounds at my Surgeon's office.
Second, visiting Romelda McKee at The hospital and seeing how well she is doing after her back surgery.
Third, spending time w/ Megan McKee...giggling and just hanging.

Andrews Family Visit..

Nick, Lauren, and Mila came for a wonderful visit for 6 days. We had tons of fun hanging out, shopping, eating out, playing with Mila, doing a photo session of her as a Fairy...
The day they had to go back home to CT, was a very sad day.
Missing them so much already!!!

Went to MacArthur Center Mall...got Starbucks as we waited for the stores to open up!
Lauren and Carson got their ears pierced.

We ate lunch at Domo Sushi in Norfolk w/ Zoe and Pop Pop too...

Sushi....

Lauren took this photo of James and I...

Lauren made the fairy tutu for Mila...she's so talented!

Eating lunch at JoJacks w/ the McKees.
Mila tried her very first pickle and loved it...

A Smidgen of Knitterly Jargon

FO - Finished Object
UFO - Unfinished Object
WIP - Work In Progress
KAL - Knit-a-long; knitters near or far unite over a common project/theme, and more-or-less simultaneously progress through the project. Done well, it can be a very nice way to stay connected over long distances... kinda like watching the same movie while staying on the phone does for long-distance dating. It's a shared process.
Frog - I appeal to Theresa Vinson Stenersen's explanation in this article
Rip - unraveling your knitting by removing the needle and yanking on the working yarn
Tink - undoing your knitting one stitch at a time by reversing the knitting process ("knit" spelled backwards)
