Porter was all ready.

8/10: regular days...

NOTE: We are missing Brigham (who comes home from his RI vacation tomorrow).

8/3: regular days....

NOTE: I moved this from my knitting blog (knitapalooza) to this blog, where it belongs.

A 'regular day'...laundry, iced coffee for mom, Cameron on his headphones, Carson playing LPS, Lola suns herself, Porter wraps himself up, Yoda watches TV, Porter plays with moon dough, James works (from home) and Yuka lounges anywhere she can.

Porter wants to attend the VB Camp Aug. 20th and wants to help raise money for this non-profit organization.

Surfers Healing was founded by Israel and Danielle Paskowitz.Their son, Isaiah, was diagnosed with autism at age three. Like many autistic children, he often suffered from sensory overload-- simple sensations could overwhelm him. The ocean was the one place where he seemed to find respite.
A former competitive surfer, Israel hit upon an idea--with Isaiah on the front of his surfboard, and Izzy steering from the back, the two spent the day surfing together. Surfing had a profound impact on Isaiah. Israel and Danielle decided they wanted to share this unique therapy with other autistic children. They began to host day camps at the beach where autistic children and their families could be exposed to a completely new experience of surfing.

Changes...

This coming Wednesday Porter is getting his GTube replaced into a Button (aka: a Mic-Key) and....
After 4 years and 2 months, Porter is officially off of his TPN!!!! Yes, I said he is OFF his TPN!

Now we are monitoring him for a couple of weeks and if his levels stay good off the TPN his central line will get replaced with a Port (so funny to think of Porter getting a Port, eh?)...woohoo!

Oh and this is something cute Porter did tonight as James tucked him into bed after hooking up his GTube/Elecare. Porter has been so used to having his TPN backpack every night that he said to James;"Backpack missing?" James told him he didn't need it now, but he asked about his backpack again.

So many new changes and still Porter smiles daily and keeps us giggling and feeling blessed. He teaches us daily and we are so proud to be his family.

Another cold and rainy one here! James & I have to grocery shop. Looks like it's going to be a homemade soup and muffins kind of day, eh?

Happy Birthday 'Honey-Bunny'...

My Husband, James is 39 today. I'm taking him out for breakfast, buying him a Star Wars book (not coming out until the 22nd though), making subs for supper and buying him an ice cream cake. That's all he wanted.

Wedding colors....

Talked to Lauren and she added tangerine to her wedding colors, so it's AQUA, TANGERINE and WHITE....FABULOUS Wedding Colors!

She also agreed that a small cake and cupcakes would be her choice....so, look what I found from
Bratty Cakes (in CA): These are perfect!!!!!!!!!! I think I'm going to have to order the cupcakes from a local cupcakery....wonder who can replicate these???

making these for the wedding...probably in an aqua blue and a white. making the cupcake stands to display them also.

Also, going to make chocolate covered strawberries, so the plethora of cake plates I'm making will be quite handy, eh?

Strawberry Shortcake...

Tonight's dessert:

Bisquick biscuits:


2 1/3 cups Bisquick baking mix
3 Tbsp butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
3 Tbsp sugar

The strawberry shortcake biscuit recipe used to be on the side of the Bisquick box. For some unfathomable reason, the company has started to print the recipe on the inside of the box. Talk about not understanding your customers! If you can't find the recipe, here it is:

Heat oven to 425°F. Stir baking mix, melted butter, milk, and 3 Tbsp of sugar in a mixing bowl until soft dough forms. Drop by 6 spoonfuls on to a greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 6 biscuits.
